Sliding glass door repair.
The big glass slider to your patio or lanai takes more abuse than any other door in a coastal Florida home. When it starts fighting you, we get it gliding again.
Common sliding glass door problems
- Heavy panels that take two hands
- Grinding, scraping, or a scratched track
- Panels that jump or fall out of the track
- Locks that no longer catch
- Condensation between the panes (failed seal)
- Cracked or chipped glass
What usually causes it
Big glass panels are heavy, and their rollers carry that weight every day. Add salt air and sand and the bearings corrode and flat-spot. The track pits, the panel drops, and everything binds. Locks and handles wear on the same timeline.
How we inspect & repair
- Test the slide and note where it binds
- Check roller adjustment and track condition
- Lift the panel safely with suction tools if needed
- Replace rollers / service the track / fit lock hardware
- Re-hang, height-adjust, and confirm the lock lines up
- You test the door before we finish
Repair or replace the glass door?
Repair wins in most cases โ the glass and frame are usually fine. Replacement makes sense mainly when the glass seal has failed on multiple panels or the frame is corroded through. We'll tell you honestly which applies.
Cost, time & safety
Price depends on parts, panel count, and glass type if glass is involved. Most non-glass repairs are quick; glass orders take longer. Panels are heavy โ never force one back on the track yourself.
Coastal context
Homes near the water in Vilano Beach, Anastasia Island, and the beaches see the fastest hardware wear. Corrosion-resistant rollers are worth it here.
