Sliding door repair in St. Augustine.
When a sliding door drags, grinds, jumps the track, or won't lock, the fix is almost always a repair — not a new door. We diagnose the real cause and fix it, usually in one visit.
Symptoms we fix
- Heavy, dragging, or grinding doors
- Panels off the track or leaning
- Doors that won't lock or latch
- Broken or loose handles
- Cracked, shattered, or foggy glass
- Torn screens and bent screen frames
- Gaps that let in drafts, water, or bugs
How we diagnose it
A sliding door is a system: two rollers, a top and bottom track, the panel, the lock, and the frame. We test the slide, check roller height, inspect the track, and confirm the lock and frame. That tells us whether you need a roller swap, track work, realignment, a lock, or a combination — before any work starts.
The repair
We protect the floor, safely remove or lift the panel where needed using suction tools, replace or service the failed parts, clean and check the track, then re-hang and adjust the door so it slides and locks properly. You test it before we finish.
Repair or replace?
The door itself — the frame and glass — is usually sound. It's the hardware that wears out, and hardware is a repair at a fraction of replacement cost. If the frame or glass is genuinely failing we'll say so. See repair vs. replace.
What affects cost
Cost depends on which parts are involved, the door size, panel count, and how corroded the hardware is. You get a clear estimate first — call 904-479-6747 for a free one.
Time & safety
Many repairs finish within an hour or two. Glass panels can weigh 80–200 lbs — if your door is off the track, leave it and call rather than forcing it.
Coastal Florida context
Salt air, humidity, and sand wear sliding-door hardware out years faster here than inland. That's why roller and track repairs dominate our work across St. Johns County — and why we fit corrosion-resistant parts when we can.
